What is Yin Yoga?
Yin yoga is easy in the sense that most postures are on the floor either seated or lying down. The postures are generally held longer, giving you the opportunity to really sink into your body and your breath. Yin postures targets both the deep connective tissues between the muscles and fascia throughout the body. The aim is to increase circulation in the joints, and with practice, improves flexibility. Yin yoga is also amazing for opening the heart center, calming the nervous system, and providing a space for the body to completely relax. This deep relaxation allows us to nourish ourselves in a way that washes away fears and cultivates compassion and love for ourselves and others.
